Bring value to your customers by communicating conveniently, efficiently, and automatedly. Start communicating through Mover in just five easy steps.
This article covers the following:
1. Define the triggers
The first step in setting up a new communication trigger starts with three mandatory fields:
- Name of the trigger
- Trigger event
- Applies to
The name of the communication should be short, precise, and describe the very essence of communication. If it is regarding sending Track & Trace links on SMS to all delivery customers, check Track & Trace to recipients.
Next are trigger events, where you will get a list to choose from. These triggers build some foundation for your communication, so choose carefully. Please check Communication triggers for some insightful knowledge if you are in doubt.
The third field you'll need to fill in is about which organization the communication applies to. It is possible to choose the organization the communication comes from or any organization you are in connection with.
The following three fields are regarding what route, stop, or order the communication shall apply to. You complete these fields by adding tags to the above-mentioned. The tags are not mandatory to add. However, if you don’t choose any tags, you will send out the communication to all you choose in the previous fields and those to come.
2. Parameters
You will find the need and options for parameter changes when trying different trigger events. Some triggers may require you to add a specific number of minutes or choose a parameter from a list; some triggers do not even need parameters! See this list of triggers & parameters to get a better overview of what improvements you can make.
3. Choose a recipient
In this step, you'll be able to specify who will receive your communication. This step takes a starting point at the trigger event. Some triggers have one recipient to choose from, and others have several. It all depends on who the communication is going to hit.
Possible recipients are:
- Delivery customer
- Pickup customer
- Email address
See this list of how it is connected.
4. Choose the message type
There are two types of ways to communicate by:
- SMS
It is a mandatory field, so before choosing whether to send an SMS or Email, you can consider some of the following:
- What kind of information do you want to share
- If you are communicating formal or informal
- What do your customers expect, and where do they prefer to receive their information
- What your business case looks like
5. Compose the message
To finalize the communication depends on what message type you choose.
If you have chosen SMS, then you must fill out two fields:
- Name of the sender
- Message content
The name of the sender will be the first thing to fill out. This is the name the receiver will see on their device.
Next up is the very message content, and we have made it easy for you to add a bit of automation by placeholders.
By choosing a placeholder, you insert information from the order or route the communication is about. It’s as easy as this.
If you have chosen email, then you have to fill in four fields:
- Name of the sender
- Email address of the sender
- Message subject
- Message content
Just the second and third point is different than the steps made when communicating by SMS. Both relate to what the recipient sees in formal communication, so choose carefully.
